• S50 Ep 05 Spoilers and Comments (3/25/2026)

Tonight's episode is titled "Open Wounds." The beginning of the episode
has a ton of potential. Surprisingly, there isn't a sneak peek video of
the losing tribe arriving back at camp. Both preview clips focus on Rizo
but the episode title sure seems to be about Emily's tribe. I have a
feeling that Christian is in a bad spot and with two tribes going to TC,
    he might be screwed.

    More later.

Yeah, we can see the targets, Christian and Ozzie. Not clear who is
going but I think it may be Ozzie. Then you have Rizzo and Charlie
with it looking like Charlie will go. In both cases it is all about
    hurt feelings with both votes.

You right about the second TC. I did not see the first TC playing out
    the way it did.

I thought this episode suffered from having two TCs. We clearly missed a
ton of key info, especially pertaining to how Emily's tribe voted at TC.
Did Christian flip Ozzy just by giving him his SITD? It makes no sense
to me why Ozzy would join up with the three players who voted out his
bud Mike White just the day before.

Did Emily suffer no heat at all from last TC? The edit makes it seem
that way plus it looks like she ended up with Angelina's jacket.

Is there something wrong with Joe? He seemed totally gassed during the
IC. It was a good thing he recovered enough at the end to win immunity
    for his tribe.

Time was wasted on Coach and his Japanese warrior stuff.

RIZGOD is swinging for the fences. I love that Dee wants to work with
him. They have potential as long as twists don't screw them over. Having
Cirie on board doesn't hurt. Kamilla could be their downfall.

Rizo telling Kamilla about the Billie Eilish idol before Charlie might
have been what saved him at TC. Charlie confirmed Rizo told her the
truth and Kamilla appears not to like slow players.

Jonathan and Devens seemed truly shocked that they got played at TC. I
was super happy to see Charlie go and Rizo use Taylor Swift lyrics
    against him.

Correction: Jeff says "Tonight will forever change the game."

Forgot to mention that Charlie starts to cry at the end of his "Last

Dee's burn on Charlie was very good.

We know how Emily's tribe voted. They showed the votes and everyone
voted for Angelina. I think Ozzie joined the others because he knew
they had the votes and he didn't want to be singled out. Emily and
Steph agreed with Christian that Angelina was unreliable and Ozzie
realized he had no choice but to join with them.

Also, it wasn't really shown but a pretty big part of why Christian
voted for Mike the prior episode was his belief that Mike would likely
beat anyone else at the end, and I am sure Christian must have spent a
lot of time explaining that point to Ozzie. Ozzie was clearly miffed
that his buddy Mike was voted out, but I think in the end he realized
    why it had to happen.

Did Emily suffer no heat at all from last TC? The edit makes it seem
that way plus it looks like she ended up with Angelina's jacket.

Christian made very clear that it was he who drove the Mike White vote,
so I think that took a lot of pressure off of Emily. He took it upon
himself to explain things to Ozzie. Also Ozzie admitted that he
actually liked Emily, so I think that definitely helped her cause.
Emily has a quality of vulnerability and openness we didn't really see
in her first season, and I think that has helped her.

Is there something wrong with Joe? He seemed totally gassed during the
IC. It was a good thing he recovered enough at the end to win immunity
    for his tribe.

I noticed that too and really have no good explanation except maybe it
was just that Jonathan and Ozzie were so much better in that challenge.

Time was wasted on Coach and his Japanese warrior stuff.

Yeah, that was dumb, but at least they didn't really spend all that long
on it. That was pretty much all we had to endure of coach in the episode.

RIZGOD is swinging for the fences. I love that Dee wants to work with
him. They have potential as long as twists don't screw them over. Having Cirie on board doesn't hurt. Kamilla could be their downfall.

Riz is very personable and charming, and I can see why Kamilla and Cirie
would be down to work with him. That said, I do give credit to Kamilla
for at least questioning whether he might be lying about his alleged
convo with Kyle. I agree both Riz and Dee (and Cirie) should keep their
eyes on Kamilla, who has the capacity to be quite manipulative.

Rizo telling Kamilla about the Billie Eilish idol before Charlie might
have been what saved him at TC. Charlie confirmed Rizo told her the
truth and Kamilla appears not to like slow players.

I thought the edit clearly telegraphed that Charlie was going home. Riz
got way more screen time and was shown in multiple substantive convos
with different players as he worked his magic on people. We barely saw anything of Charlie and when we did, it was the same one-note nonsense
about how he was coming for Rizo. Even though the vote was 4-3 and
really hinged on Kamilla, I had no doubt Charlie was going home.

Jonathan and Devens seemed truly shocked that they got played at TC. I
was super happy to see Charlie go and Rizo use Taylor Swift lyrics
    against him.

I wasn't sure that was a real Merge, even though Jeff said drop your
buffs and everyone was shown together. With so many players left in the
game, I wondered if this was some kind of fake merge thing where the
players would all be together to do the MrBeast stuff and then reform
into new tribes afterward. Guess we'll find out.

We know how Emily's tribe voted.-a They showed the votes and everyone

they had the votes and he didn't want to be singled out.-a Emily and
Steph agreed with Christian that Angelina was unreliable and Ozzie
realized he had no choice but to join with them.

I'm not talking about the vote count as indicated by my mention of Ozzy joining up with the others. It's the logic behind the votes that was
skipped over. Angelina voting for Steph makes zero sense especially
given how she's now claiming Christian was plotting against her at
    Ponderosa.

Also, it wasn't really shown but a pretty big part of why Christian
voted for Mike the prior episode was his belief that Mike would likely
beat anyone else at the end, and I am sure Christian must have spent a
lot of time explaining that point to Ozzie.-a Ozzie was clearly miffed
that his buddy Mike was voted out, but I think in the end he realized
    why it had to happen.

I don't think Ozzy realized or agreed with Christian's reasoning at all.
Trust is what he wants and Christian bought back his trust by giving him
his SITD. It'll be interesting to see if Ozzy gives it back to him at
    some point.

Did Emily suffer no heat at all from last TC? The edit makes it seem
that way plus it looks like she ended up with Angelina's jacket.

Ozzy definitely likes Emily and wants to work with her. I doubt
Christian had much to do with Ozzy not going after Emily. I'm surprised Angelina said nothing.

Being gassed has nothing to do with how the others performed. Maybe he's
not feeling well. If S50 has more physical challenges than has been the
norm in the New Era, Jonathan is going to kill it. It's too bad his
strategic game appears to be subpar.

Time was wasted on Coach and his Japanese warrior stuff.

Yeah, that was dumb, but at least they didn't really spend all that long
on it.-a That was pretty much all we had to endure of coach in the episode.

Long enough for him to rename himself "The Tide Walker" and "knight"
Colby and Joe with warrior names. We also had Coach babysitting Aubry.

RIZGOD is swinging for the fences. I love that Dee wants to work with
him. They have potential as long as twists don't screw them over.
Having Cirie on board doesn't hurt. Kamilla could be their downfall.

convo with Kyle.-a I agree both Riz and Dee (and Cirie) should keep their eyes on Kamilla, who has the capacity to be quite manipulative.

Kamilla definitely deserves credit for not buying Rizo's Kyle story.
They were only together for a few days so it's highly unlikely Kyle
would want Kamilla to trust her game to an unknown.

Rizo telling Kamilla about the Billie Eilish idol before Charlie might
have been what saved him at TC. Charlie confirmed Rizo told her the
truth and Kamilla appears not to like slow players.

really hinged on Kamilla, I had no doubt Charlie was going home.

Often the player who is going to get booted gets a ton of screen time.
This season seems to be different for some reason. There were a couple
of shots of Kamilla during TC that made it clear she was going to vote
out Charlie but going into TC I wasn't sure how she would vote thanks to
    the horrible editing this season.

Jonathan and Devens seemed truly shocked that they got played at TC. I
was super happy to see Charlie go and Rizo use Taylor Swift lyrics
    against him.

    Next Episode

into new tribes afterward.-a Guess we'll find out.

We see them all running through the jungle looking for something. 17
players in a challenge would be very hard to follow so something is
probably up. With Jeff's love of three tribes a couple of possibilities
    come to mind:

    1. Two players get left out via whatever it is they are searching for.
They either get sent on a Journey or to Exile Island. The others get
split into three teams and compete for advantages.

    2. Jeff goes hardcore and eliminates the last two players to find
whatever it is they're searching for on the spot.

It is possible that it's not a true merge but people such as Mike Bloom
are saying that they are merging. If people are sent to Exile Island or
on a Journey, I hope they don't bring back the hour glass from S41.
