I've just reached the halfway mark on the current season of Australian Survivor (episode 12) and I have to give David Genat full credit for
doing a really good job in his first season as host. Full disclosure -
I never liked Genat in his two seasons as a player. I thought he was obnoxious, self-centered and clearly performing for the camera. If I
had to compare him with US Survivor players, I'd say he was like the
worst combination you could imagine of Boston Rob and Rick Devens.

But Genat has really impressed me as a host, and I thinking the fact
that he was a player himself really adds to his effectiveness in this
role. Jonathan LaPaglia - JLP - was also an effective host, but he
always gave the sense of being slightly removed and above the players.
David doesn't do that, and I give him full props for his performance so far. --- Synchronet 3.21f-Linux NewsLink 1.2
