It seems to me here in the USA except for maybe Texans most don't have regional pride unlike say Mexicans or Brits.

The Mexican staff here at the nursing home take pride in their home states.

And Brits take pride in their County. My paternal ancestors came from Worcestershire. I have a Worcestershire County flag in my room and also a Saint George flag.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by pride. I think pride in our 'home' states was quite reduced during the American Civil War which gave sectionalism a somewhat bad name.
And then, also, Americans move around a lot. Should someone like Elon Musk take pride in California when they seem to be trying to keep his business shut down? No. He's spoken about moving to Nevada or Texas. The states compete for our business, not our loyalty which is to the United States.
