    Well, if you believe that fundamentalists in all religions are misogynistic, then that refutes the argument about conservative strands of Islam being solely so, no?

    I think that this is about is acknowledging that Islam has this cognitive dissonance, contrary to the usual view that we must tolerate Islam because it's not part of the white patriarchy or whatever excuse the left is using this week to excuse bad behavior.
    I have no cite, but did I ever tell you about the women who were demonstrating in favor of Muslims with signs that said "Lesbians for Muslims"?
