• maybe what Brook should have said

We know Curtis is an ass. He broke up with Jordan early on because she was keeping secrets. The secrets were primarily work related. I donrCOt think
he was ever really entitled to any of that info. This fake excuse for the breakup was made while he was keeping his own parcel of secrets. One of
which was his secret deal with Selena, to run the illegal gambling
    operation.

Now we know he is a jealous vindictive ass, wailing on Isaiah without proof
of his involvement. That pounding was about having lost Portia to Isaiah, fueled by some uncomfortable truths Isaiah stupidly flung at Curtis.

A thing Brook should have said to Chase, was that she chose to keep him out
of the loop because he is a cop. She didnrCOt want him to have to lie to his superiors. But it got out of control. Something along those lines.

Just a thought. If seen as an act taken to preserve his job, he might have been more open to BrookrCOs coverup. After all, he was already on thin ice with the department due to all the stupid things he did that resulted in
    the demotion.

He might have been a bit more sympathetic to that story because it
showed that she had given some consideration to *his* feelings. But it's
very likely he would have reminded her that Dudley Do-Right reports
*all* wrongs to the authorities, even those committed by his own family!

Yes, he did a bunch of very stupid things, all to help Willow. She
(easily) convinced him that Michael had shot Drew, so he tried to build
a case against Michael. And because there was no evidence to implicate
Michael, he created some. He shouldn't have been demoted, he should have
been fired and charged with police misconduct, evidence tampering,
obstruction of an investigation, or whatever charges apply under NY
    penal law.
