We saw Ava get roped into DrewAs scheme. Yet, her behavior was so inconsistent with her usual traits.
Agree. She was rewritten somewhat.
I remembered that she dropped off Avery at SonnyAs right before her meeting with Drew.
Sonny called Ava Jerome a "cancer" that needed to be cut out of their daughter Avery's life.
Suddenly, on that day, Sonny's animus towards Ava was several orders of magnitude worse than it had ever been in the past. Had she done anything
to provoke it? No. The writers just wanted to give Ava a motive for
throwing in with Drew.
This comment almost certainly wounded her deeply.
No doubt. But if she wanted Sonny not to think bad thoughts and say bad
things about her, she might have avoided messing with his meds. And his
son's. Among other things. Such as murdering his girlfriend.
We know that no matter what else is happening, Ava will go to great lengths to protect Avery. She already lost Kiki, her other daughter.
But SonnyAs comment cut even deeper. Ava had leukemia when she was
carrying Avery. AveryAs bone marrow was used to cure AvaAs cancer. She obviously has conflicting emotions about that, because Silas performed the surgery even though it was not permitted due to the age of the child.
IIRC, she got the leukemia diagnosis after Avery was born. Someone shot
her (can't recall who it was--some mobster) and she fell off a cliff or something. Silas rescued her and saved her from the gunshot wound, but
in the process, discovered that she was dying of leukemia. So he saved
her from the leukemia by transplanting some of infant Avery's bone
marrow into her. I don't think the age of the child was the legal issue
in this case. The issue was that Silas had kidnapped the baby without
Michael's knowledge or consent while she was under his guardianship.
I think that may explain why she had her defenses down.
Ava and Sonny are birds of a feather. Both have extremely fragile egos
that they protect with extremely caustic personalities.
Also:
Cornhole Goat.
Are you serious? Ick
That relationship is ick, IMO.
