There is just about too much to keep track of here, as usual.
So Charlotte and Danny come across Brennan's body while mildly
trespassing and decide it's too risky to even report finding the body.
Yet they touch the corpse and Charlotte manages to lose her bracelet by hooking it onto the body, probably leaving all sorts of physical
evidence behind. Genius!
And then, Ava and Drew come across the body and decide that Ava having drugged Brennan incriminates her so much that it's *better* to haul
Brennan all the way to the edge of the Quartermaine Estate and bury him there. Again, creating so many possible pieces of evidence against both
of them. And of course they are committing a separate crime by moving
the body, a Felony. Drugging him is Assault 2nd in NY usually, also a Felony.
of incrimination by many times.
I was expecting the dog to pull Brennan's shoe out of the ground.
I wonder if it will turn out that no one intentionally killed Brennan?
Maybe he stumbled into the pool area in his stupor by accident and
drowned? The writers probably have not decided yet.

I give those two a pass because they're very young without fully
developed prefrontal cortices. :D Drew and Ava don't get a pass on those grounds. Or on any grounds.

In my state, and probably in NY too, Drew and Ava would be charged with burglary in the first (because they had caused physical injury in the commission of the burglary), and attempted larceny ("attempted," because
they didn't find what they set out to steal). In addition to assault in
the second as you pointed out, if the pill was a prescription drug, they could be charged with criminal possession of and sale of a controlled substance ("sale," in the sense that it was dispensed to someone other
than the person to whom it was prescribed). But the worst of the charges
they would face would be murder in the second (because someone died as a direct result of the burglary). Drew and Ava could claim all day long
that they didn't intend to kill Brennan, but under felony murder rules
that claim is totally irrelevant.
This just seems like a crazy foolish move, increasing the risk
of incrimination by many times.
Right! Crazy and foolish only begins to describe what those two nitwits
did. For the life of me, I can't figure out why Ava agreed to drug
Brennan in the first place. But even then, she could have walked away
from the whole shambolic mess at any time. She had no reason to help
Drew search Brennan's room, no reason to help him move the body, no
reason to help him bury it. She could have refused to do any of that,
and yet she didn't, and with every step, just got herself in deeper.

I was, too. She might yet. Chase is supposedly dog-sitting, but instead
of supervising the dog, he's busy accusing his wife's teenage cousin of
GTA for stealing his stupid truck. The dog could dig up the shoe and
drag it onto the Q estate for Agent Jacks to find and (conveniently) recognize as Brennan's. Then when she takes the shoe away from the dog,
the dog will run back to the grave to dig up another prize, Agent Jacks
will run after her, and will find Brennan's body. At least that's the
way it could play out. Or not.
I wonder if it will turn out that no one intentionally killed Brennan?
Maybe he stumbled into the pool area in his stupor by accident and

If the writers bring an opportunistic killer into the mix--someone who
took advantage of Brennan's drugged condition to kill him--it's probably because they don't want to have Drew and Ava face murder charges. What
would be the point otherwise? If someone else was responsible for
killing Brennan, Drew and Ava would still face several severe felony charges--assault in the second, burglary in the second, conspiracy,
attempted larceny, to name a few. There's still a whole lot of time in
the pokey associated with those.
They did try to make Drew and Ava show at least a little humanity and
not appear to be complete psychos--having Ava apologize to Brennan's
body and tell him they hadn't intended to kill him, the "moment of
silence" thing that Ava insisted on and Drew went along with, Ava
tossing the shoe in the grave and telling Brennan to rest in peace. All
of that took the edge off a bit and was actually sort of comical, given
the circumstances. But turning them into clowns really won't let them
off the hook if they're responsible for Brennan's death.
I'll stick to my theory that neither will ever pay a serious consequence
for all these major felonies. The main characters very rarely do.
