Is Drew some kind of Svengali?

I cannot believe Ava caved to his demands.

Did she kill Brennan, or just make him drowsy?

Did Drew set her up for BrennanrCOs murder?
She has no motive the police could point to.

Would Drew benefit from BrennanrCOs death? Maybe. But wouldnrCOt he be more valuable to him as an ally? He would have access to tools and intel that
Drew could use in his various take downs.

Is Drew some kind of Svengali?

I would say, not really. He's manipulative, but he's no mesmerizer.

I cannot believe Ava caved to his demands.

Ava rewritten as a moron did the caving. The previous version of Ava
would have been too smart to go along with Drew's demented scheme, even
to get back at Sonny. This dingy version of Ava even had Nina of all
people trying to reason her out of colluding with Drew. (There's Nina, a
person with the brain of a sea anemone, acting as the voice of reason
    again.)

Did she kill Brennan, or just make him drowsy?

Did Drew set her up for BrennanAs murder?

What kind of idiot would you have to be to put even a "generic sleeping
pill" (as Drew claimed the pill to be) into someone's drink to make them
drowsy when you have no idea what other medications they might be taking
that could cause a toxic drug-drug interaction?

She has no motive the police could point to.

If he collapses or dies after drinking the drink that was left on the
table where she was sitting alone long enough to doctor it, the cops
won't need a motive to suspect her. She would be high on the suspect
list, along with the bartender and server. When all three are
investigated, Ava will be the most suspicious. Not only did the imbecile
spike his drink in full view of everyone in the restaurant, she was also
seen colluding with Drew minutes before it happened, and if the cops
start poking around looking for reasons that Drew might have a motive to
harm Brennan, they're going to get an eyeful.

Would Drew benefit from BrennanAs death? Maybe. But wouldnAt he be more valuable to him as an ally? He would have access to tools and intel that Drew could use in his various take downs.

As evil as Drew has become, he hasn't tried to kill anyone. Yet. There's
a first time for everything, but even so, I doubt Drew intends to kill
Brennan. Drew wouldn't need to go to that extreme when he can neutralize Brennan's hold over him by stealing the "evidence" he thinks Brennan
    keeps in his hotel room.

But maybe he does want Brennan dead and has set up the hit with an
unwitting assassin to take the fall. That would be a stupid thing to do, especially considering he's involved a known mercenary in the plot. Ava
would rat Drew out in a heartbeat if Brennan died from being drugged and
the cops closed in on her, so Drew would have to kill Ava too.

I'd like to know why Drew assumes that Brennan is keeping the blackmail material in his hotel room. A WSB bureau chief, or for that matter
anyone with only a couple of brain cells, would put such stuff in a lock
box at a bank or at least in the hotel safe. But in the GH universe, it probably *is* in Brennan's hotel room, inside an envelope marked in bold
black letters, "DOCUMENTS PROVING THAT DREW CAIN STOLE CAMPAIGN FUNDS
ARE INSIDE THIS ENVELOPE. PLEASE STEAL AFTER RANSACKING ROOM."

Any idiot in Port Charles, probably. Someone is regularly drugging
someone else as part of some scheme or other, and there is almost never
    any long-term medical consequence.

Absolutely! There is probably video surveillance showing Ava altering
    the drink. >

It did not seem like Drew wanted Brennan dead, just to get the evidence.>

Also, why assume Brennan has a single copy of the evidence? It's just documentation showing that Drew stole campaign funds, so there could be
    many copies. I'd have many.

Right. Except when someone tampers with someone else's medications, then
there are all sorts of consequences.

Hopefully so. Not that she would be fitted with one of those stylish
unisex beige pantsuits by Pentonville if she is exposed as the poisoner.
If caught, she could make a nonprosecution deal with the DA in exchange
for testimony against the one who put her up to it.

As would any experienced blackmailer. But I'll bet Brennan, spymaster
and PC WSB Bureau Chief, had only the one copy.
