Hudson came to Joss with a job offer, both he and Carly tried to argue

Then the WSB ordered Joss to take the job, and when she announced to
Hudson and Carly that she would be doing so, they both proceeded to
argue with her. She'd done what they wanted, so why did they argue with
her when she did it? Carly even started arguing *before* it occurred to
her that Joss's change of mind might have been due to an agenda. Do
these people suffer from oppositional defiant disorder, always taking
the opposite side of an argument, never mind that they might have argued
from the other side minutes or hours or days before?
Then after Hudson tried to argue Joss out of her decision to take the
job that he had tried to argue her *into* taking, he called his puppet
master and was ordered not to let her take it. Boggle.
Unless Jax is another person with a bad case of ODD, the person Hudson
called wasn't Jax, but he's obviously working either for that person or
in cahoots with them. And unless he's working for three different
people--Jax, the person on the phone, and Phoebe's birth father--the
person on the phone is not only Jax's nemesis, but probably is also
Phoebe's birth father or a member of Phoebe's birth family.
Ugh. This story is already a tangled mess and it's not yet out of the
gate.
I am not following it either. CarlyAs default setting is oargumentative/quarrelsomeo.
No argument there, ha ha. The woman would argue with a mirror if no one
else was around.
I remember when Nina called her to report she
had located Sonny. Carly wouldnAt even allow Nina a word. I donAt know if she has ODD - but sure, it is a possible explanation for why she is so ranty.
She has ODD *and* she thinks she knows better than everyone else. A
deadly combo if ever there was one.
As for Hudson - it appears his marching orders were to get Joss to reject
the CEO job.
Yes, his orders from the person on the phone were to stop Joss from
taking the job, but his orders from Jax were to get her to take the job.
He's been tasked by two different people to do things for them that are
at cross purposes. He showed up trying to argue Joss into the CEO job,
then tried to argue her out of it, and to make things even more
confusing, he did the latter even before he had been given orders by the
person on the phone to do so!
If they (whoever they might be) had a candidate in mind, why not just directly appoint that person? Or falsify documents appointing him if otheyo isnAt Jax?
I'd like to know why Hudson would even carry out Jax's request and offer
Joss the job when he also worked for (or with) the person who doesn't
want her to have it. Why didn't he just tell the person who ordered him
to thwart Joss that Jax was about to offer Joss the CEO job? That way
they could have schemed to nip things in the bud before Joss was even
offered the job.
Just a nitpick...IRL, only a company's board of directors can appoint a
CEO. Jax couldn't just decide all on his own to stick Joss in the
position. But in the GH universe silly stuff like this happens
routinely, so I guess their thought is that since JJE is Jax's company,
Jax is the only one who can sign off on a CEO. Maybe someone could have falsified documents to appoint someone other than Joss, but wouldn't Jax
find out about it eventually?
Why bother with the charade?
Is it a charade? It seems more a confusing mess than a deception. I need
to try to untangle before my brain short circuits:
1) Hudson was tasked by someone to track a baby.
2) Hudson was tasked by Jax to talk Joss into taking a job offer, then
when she took it, he tried to talk her out of it (*before* he had been
tasked to do so).
3) Hudson was tasked by someone to thwart Joss from taking the CEO job.
4) Unless Hudson is following orders from Jax and two other people, the baby-tracking person and the Joss-thwarting person are probably one and
the same person.
5) That Hudson was in PC to track the baby would be serendipitous for
the person who sent him there for that purpose *if* that person were the
same person interested in making sure Joss doesn't become CEO of JJE.
What a lucky break that Hudson is just where he needs to be to do both
jobs!
6) I don't think I untangled anything.... :(
