But Scout is his daughter. He isnrCOt the best parent, but there doesnrCOt seem to be any thing he has done that would cause a court to take away his
    parental rights.
    Parents move all the time.

I get that Alexis is mourning and wants to hold on to Sam. I get that she
    is grieving.

    She needs to step back.

It's completely understandable that Alexis wants to keep Scout close and
have as much contact between the siblings as possible. Unfortunately for Alexis, as Scout's surviving parent it's really up to Drew where Scout
lives. Regarding Scout at least, Drew really has done nothing to warrant
    any interference with his choices.
It doesn't seem like Alexis is looking to go to court to prevent Drew
from moving Scout to D.C. Alexis was hoping Monica could influence Drew
to change his mind about moving Scout. I do wonder when the writers are
going to deal with the death of Leslie Charleson. Monica has been an off screen character for a very long time.
Alexis should back off a little, but that's not generally her style.

It's been the better part of a year since LC died, and it *is* odd that
Monica would still be living. It could be that her death would naturally
lead to a dramatic power grab among the contentious and litigious Qs,
never mind documented legal crapola that should prevent or at least
mitigate such a thing. And with everything going on with Michael and
Willow and Drew, Brook Lynn and Gio and Chase, and Tracy and Deception,
maybe they want to avoid diluting the Quartermaine Drama more than they
have already and are waiting to sort all of that out before starting an
all out war among the Qs after Monica dies. Just a guess--probably
    wrong.

She has not backed off. She has enlisted Molly to do research about grandparentsrCO rights.
They are pretty much going to have to show he is a murderer, or something
    along those lines.

Which they just might, given this weird personality transplant.

That must have been in the Monday ep. Haven't seen that one yet.

Alexis should know that a parent's rights outweigh a grandparent's in
most situations. Even if Drew is sent to prison for murder, there is no guarantee that his parental rights would be stripped from him
completely. He might be given a say in who will care for Scout while
he's incarcerated. But even if he isn't given a say, there's no
guarantee that Scout would automatically be charged to Alexis. The court
might place her with another family member, or if that proved
problematic, in foster care. If Alexis is concerned that she'll lose
access to her granddaughter, instead of stirring up bad blood, maybe she
should considering moving to DC, too.

Which they just might, given this weird personality transplant.

Yep. He's fully capable murder and every other horrible act because
he'll be given a free pass after it's discovered that he has a tumor or
a brain worm or an implant that made him do it.

The number of times they have shown Alexis and Scout being in the same
room, much less interacting as family, trends towards zero. The kid ran
away to Danny and Jason, not Alexis.

It is possible Drew has just morphed the newest (non-super) villain in
Port Charles, in contrast to his entire previous recent history. It is
still my theory that this huge personality shift will eventually be
revealed to be caused somehow by the mind-control programming Drew was subjected to by, if I recall correctly, Faison. That will be Drew's get
    out of jail free card.

Such a great point! The last time we saw Alexis and Scout together was
when Alexis escorted Scout from the church where nutty Willow was having
    a meltdown.

Speaking of that meltdown, seems to me that going off like that on
someone whose child is present to witness it could be introduced at the
custody hearing in October as just another reason among many that Willow
should not have custody of children. (Not defending Drew, either!)

It is amazing how many people on social media believe Drew will end up
being Shiloh, or a Shiloh implant.
