    Kristina was expelled

After getting kicked out, she ended up at Dawn if Day.

Thereafter, she ended up working at a restaurant bar. At times, there was
some tension with her family, especially her mom and sisters, especially
Molly. She felt they looked down at her for not achieving a professional degree.

There is no reason to believe she finished a four year degree. She seemed enrolled in a liberal arts program. She almost certainly had to take some science courses for admission to medical school.

This story isnrCOt making sense, unless she has been possessed bybaepiphany. --- Synchronet 3.22a-Linux NewsLink 1.2

    Funny!

I did not remember any hint of Kristina having completed a bachelor's
degree. I also recall her being expelled after the incident with the professor.
Kristina did have a goal of medical school some time ago, if I remember correctly. How scatter-brained Kristina would ever have the discipline
and intellect to complete medical school seems like a long-shot to me.
Law School is generally a much easier path than medical school, but it
still seems unlikely Kristina could be successful there either, given
her history. But in Port Charles it'll probably take about a year.

I must have misunderstood that scene yesterday. Kristina was admitted to medical school, but I heard law school somehow.
I still bet it'll take about a year for Kristina to become a doctor.

Kristina was being surprisingly self-aware of her tendency not to follow through with plans that require long-term diligence to the task, like
medical school. But it looks like Molly convinced Kristina that was in
fact not the case, because Kristina was able to get admitted to medical school. Maybe Kristina has become more mature and will be able to focus
    better on a long-term goal.

With Kate Mansi leaving GH, it's the perfect time for Kristina to go
    pursue a medical career.

Right! Or even less. Cam Webber went clear across the country for an undergraduate degree three or so years ago and he's still working on it,
last we heard. But it shouldn't take ditzy Kristina, intellectual giant
of arts and sciences, more than a year to finish medical school. <snort>

Kristina was being surprisingly self-aware of her tendency not to follow through with plans that require long-term diligence to the task, like medical school. But it looks like Molly convinced Kristina that was in

Well, she's probably closing in on 40, so you'd think that would be the
case. But only a couple of years ago she was cutting someone's brake
lines in an attempt to murder them, and only last year she entered into
a false imprisonment conspiracy, so maybe not so mature. OTOH, given the personality defects of some GH doctors, she might just fit right in!

With Kate Mansi leaving GH, it's the perfect time for Kristina to go
    pursue a medical career.

I haven't seen the episodes this week, but the idea on its face is
laughable. Kristina, a doctor? And she's already applied and been
accepted to medical school without ever mentioning to anyone that she
was going through that grueling, time consuming process? It's not a
matter of just filling out a few forms. You need letters of
recommendation, you have to write essays and sit for interviews, and
because most people apply to more than one school, all of that has to be repeated with each application.

If they need to send her off because they're not giving her much to do,
okay, then send her away to finish her BA. Or if they really want to
crank up the drama, turn her into another of Sidwell's and Cullum's
victims. (They can always resurrect her later.) But medical school?
Kristina? Not believable without a personality transplant.

And now that I've seen the actual scene in which we find out that
Kristina had applied secretly to med school and was not so secretly accepted...it's even more ridiculous than expected. Apparently,
Kristina's secret prep for applying was...a lot of studying? Good thing
no one saw her car parked at the library (or wherever she went to bone
up on doctoring), otherwise she might have been asked what she was doing
at a library when the only books she's ever been known to have cracked
were The Joy of Mixology and Molly's latest romance novel.

I could be wrong, but I don't think an undergraduate degree is required
to apply to medical school, tho my guess is that applicants would
probably need to have taken certain college level science courses and
have passed a standard admissions exam. And they do need letters of recommendation from professors and others who could attest to their
scholarly ability and their character. Who would write letters of recommendation for a person who had been kicked out of school for
prostituting herself to her professor in exchange for a good grade? I'd
love to read the letter that prof wrote!

You generally do need a Bachelor's degree to go to medical school in the
real world. You certainly need a number of undergraduate level courses
in subjects like biology and organic chemistry. Not exactly anything
we've seen Kristina engaging in. It's hard to picture Kristina in a chem
lab. When she was in college, it was obviously a liberal arts program.
And you are so right! It's mind boggling to imagine the letters of recommendation Kristina could get for her college "career."
But I'm still betting that in a year or so Dr. Kristina Davis will make
an unannounced, dramatic and triumphant return to Port Charles to begin
her practice at where else but General Hospital.

OMG. :( Well, you're probably right. And why not? She's already overcome
two huge obstacles in her path: 1) having her brain rewired for STEM
studies, and 2) being admitted to a top medical school on the basis of something other than scholarship. Her good character certainly didn't
help her because she doesn't have one.

Maybe she offered sex to the members of the admissions committee and
they accepted. Or maybe Sonny threatened to hang the members of the
committee from meat hooks and let his friend Carver have a go at them
with his collection of butchery knives. Or maybe in a dream, some guy
called Wizard something bestowed upon her an Honorary Doctorate of
Thinkology. Any of those explanations are more plausible than that after
a few months of studying on the QT, an airhead suddenly sprouted a Big
    Brain.

But if Kristina is really true to character, then if and when she
returns to PC, it will be because she had been so challenged by medical
school that she blew it off.
