I just read a handful of articles about the appearance.
ScottrCOs appearance on GH was meant to be a crossover event to mark his final appearance as Aladdin.
Notably, he currently appears as a nurse on the rCLScrubsrCY reboot.
So, there is every reason to suspect a future plotline, given his new
career trajectory in television.
When I worked as a bouncer, the place got sued for failure to pay for
music licenses. ASCAP IIRC. Oddly, the owner and his son had a number of copyrighted songs they licensed thru BMI, so their refusal to pay was inexplicable.
I sat in with their lawyer, who explained a lot of stuff.
He explained that songs played on the radio in the venue are licensed and
you still have to pay ASCAP and BMI, even if the music is only on the
radio, because the establishment is creating a desired ambience by using
those songs.
This venue played recorded music, usually CDs, but also featured live bands
who performed a lot of covers, all different genres.
A lot of establishments go out of their way to purchase cd packages that
are not covered by music license companies, usually cds of unknown artists playing their original stuff.
The venue where I worked tried this dodge for a while, but the ASCAP cops nailed them anyway. It is hard to book local garage bands as their set
lists are almost always at least half covers. And then thererCOs the tribute bands, who are often unlicensed and unauthorized.
I assume GH have some sort of license, tho, probably thru their parent companies, ABC and Disney.
I cannot help but wonder if the license, such as it is, covered the Aladdin performance, or did they have to pay extra?
