Let us say that he really is Nathan, returned from suspended animation.

His discussion with Lulu, as to why he is attracted to her centered around their mutual experience of having been gone for years, then returned to a
    world that changed.

There is really very little else that binds them. They are both very attractive. But that is about it.

Maxie is due to come out of her coma very soon (per reporting).

Ironically, this loss of time and being dropped into a new unrecognized
world is something Maxie will have in common with both Nathan and Lulu (and possibly a dozen other soap characters).

The more interesting part of her story is that she will remember specifics
and details about Nathan that no one else could. If he is a fake, she will catch it.

That could be all there is. Real world romances start with less.

I'm hoping Nathan is genuinely Nathan. Nothing yet indicates he's a doppelganger. There must be more to his story. Maybe another mentally conditioned mole like we've seen many times in Port Charles.
