Just as a disclaimer, I haven't watched past Monday, but felt the need
to address one of my pet peeves and make a related comment on the
episode.
Police commissioners do not carry weapons and badges or participate in investigations. And the DA's office does not have authority over the
police department. If they want Anna to be bossed around by a higher up,
then make her the chief, and give someone else the job of the police commissioner and Anna's boss. Doing that wouldn't change her current job
except to make it conform a bit more closely to reality.
Anna asking Dante and Chase if they could be impartial is ridiculous. It doesn't matter that they *think* they can be impartial or claim to *try*
to be impartial--it's not humanly possible! They're both compromised due
to their association not only with the victim but also with the
suspects. For that matter, Anna is just as compromised as they are. Like
Chase and Dante, she's known to harbor animosity not just towards the
victim, but towards a few of the "persons of interest" whose photos
she's pinned to her little cork board. Then there's the little issue of
those three vacuum heads not even considering that Drew might have been
shot by someone they *don't* know. Argh! It's maddening!
