Just so I have this straight...Anna tried to execute Britt because her
demons (in the form of Peter) told her to do. She shoots Peter (aka, the empty space above Britt's head), the demons are vanquished, and she's
cured of the insane need to rid the world of Faison's descendants.
Jason, who is apparently freelancing these days as a psychoanalyst,
advises Anna that she would be best served by undergoing a little
outpatient therapy for PTSD.
Enter Bonsai Baines, who delivers Anna the same message as that of Dr
Jason Morgan, PsyD. Baines gives Anna--a person with scrambled brains
who is very obviously non compos mentis--a piece of paper to sign and
tells her all is forgiven buh bye.
The miracle of modern cures! Just shoot off a couple of rounds into thin
air and ta-da!
Exactly! Because Anna did not ultimately shoot Britt (No harm, no foul),
Anna is permitted to remain in the community with just out-patient
therapy. In real-world terms, it's absurd. No one suffering from
delusions as well as auditory and visual hallucinations just snaps out
of it because a close friend points out the delusion. And the mentally compromised person does not get to choose to avoid in-patient
confinement because she "could not stand it." Anna should be seen as a
danger to others.
But in Port Charles, significant consequences are rare. I suppose
stepping down as police commissioner is a consequence?
