I'm shocked by not seeing any posts here for the past 2 months. I'm
still very aggravated at men having to wear wigs on Days Of Our Lives. I
prefer the natural look and even buzz my hair so I don't need to do a
comb over or wear a wig to improve my appearance--unless it's Halloween.
If a male actor has to wear a wig, at least get it to match his grey
hair showing beside it or at least blend the colors to look the same.
Enough of my ranting for now. LOL EfOe

I'm still here in the sense that I check on the newsgroup periodically
for new posts, but I honestly haven't watched the show in several years
and probably wouldn't recognize most of the actors if I tuned back in
today. I think I stopped watching regularly shortly after the 50-year anniversary celebration in 2015, and I believe I baled out for good when
they were doing that Patch being hacked through his eye story line,
circa 2018 or so. I just got tired of the contrived plots, the quasi
sci-fi elements of brain transfers and people constantly coming back
from the dead, etc. and the generally stupid story lines. But I keep
lurking in the background of this group since I watched the show for so
long (going back to 1970) so I try to keep in general touch with what's
going on, and I due take note of the increasing number of actors (some
younger than myself like Drake) who have passed on.

Regarding the point about the men wearing wigs on the show, I honestly
don't know what that refers to. If you can give some specific examples,
that would be cool. I don't actually recall examples of men wearing
wigs back when I was still watching.

Yeah, I'd like to know who you're referring to also.

Thanks to all 3 of you for responding. I'm referring to most of the male
actors having either wigs or hair pieces. EJ is the one that stands out
the most due to his hair piece is totally recognizable when looking
close at his grey hair underneath it. Sometimes they display it closer
to his own color of hair but many times it's totally different. Rafe has
been shown with 2 different colors of hair. There are several others who
have receding hairlines that are attempted to be concealed by the
wig/hair piece. It could be that this has occurred years ago but at
close to 80 years of age, I'm only noticing it in the past year.

I thought it was just his hair style.

    I still haven't noticed.

That's interesting. I would have thought the show's hair and makeup department would do a better job with this than to let it be so
noticeable. It's also a bit surprising to me in this day and age that a receding hairline or touch of gray would be that big an issue with older
male actors. I remember Drake H. famously decided years ago to stop
coloring his hair and letting it go naturally gray, and he got a lot of
kudos for that. I haven't actually watched the show in years, but I
would think both Rafe and EJ are attractive, middle-aged men who
probably look better and more distinguished with their natural gray showing. --- Synchronet 3.21d-Linux NewsLink 1.2

Things have went downhill in the television industry over the past 40 years. So many mistakes and lack of attention to detail that you would have never
    seen in years past.

Seems to be a result of the dumbing down of each newer generation. Seems to me, many people in these industries were alot smarter and much more professional years ago than you will ever see today.
