Makes sense. Commercial TV as we know it is clearly phasing out. Couldn't tell from the article whether this will be free or pay.

I suspect a lot will depend on how much of a viewership drop there is with
the move to Peacock. I'm not sure the powers that be realize that Days has many, many older viewers who don't do streaming services and probably won't
be willing to make the switch just to watch one soap opera. Interestingly, Passions went through a similar thing late in its run when NBC cancelled the show and moved it to what was then called the DirecTV cable channel. It lasted less than a year on cable.

I think this will be the end of Days. The ratings are already lower
than the other 3 soaps. I've already read on some other bb's that
people don't want to pay an extra $5.00 a month to watch a show they
believe will be gone in a year. Notice several actors leaving the show
too. The latest one I heard of is Ava. That's what happened at
GL...the actors started leaving and within months they announced the end
    of the show.

I may just read updates of Days online to see how a few story lines play
out that aren't over by 9/12. I'll miss some of the actors but it's
the same as it was with AMC and GL, you get over it. ;-)

Don't beat yourself up Chase, they fooled us all. I understand how it
feels after watching a show for decades, it kind of seems like a
betrayal in a way. There are older people trying to make it on fixed

That sounds about right, that there isn't really a story line for her

I have Peacock Premium for $9.99 without commercials. I cannot fast forward with the 4.99.
But worth it. I wanted to watch Chicago Fire from the start. It is just another soap, just with lots of action. :)
They have a cumbersome UI, but once I set up my faves, it works for me.
Just hoping this isn't the beginning of the end of DOOL.

I may just read updates of Days online to see how a few story lines play out that aren't over by 9/12. I'll miss some of the actors but it's
the same as it was with AMC and GL, you get over it. ;-)

Primula, I'm still considering following Days but haven't
decided yet. I remember how devastated I was when
Another World got the ax in 1999. I keep beating myself
with thinking I should have seen the "writing on the wall"
as soon as Peacock charged for the mini-series. (Chase)
Don't beat yourself up Chase, they fooled us all. I understand how it
feels after watching a show for decades, it kind of seems like a
betrayal in a way. There are older people trying to make it on fixed
incomes who can't afford any more extra cost too.
Primula, Thank you for your kind and comforting
words. I feel sad for people who are less fortunate
and will be unable to pay but want to continue
watching. I pray that you are doing great. (Chase)
