That's pretty amazing. For a show that was close to being on its death bed
a few years ago, Days has found a way to hang in there for another few years to enter the rarefied year of 60 years on-air. I used to think I would outlive the show, but I'm starting to think it will remain on air long after everyone who remembers its beginnings are long gone.

If I am remembering right, the only cast member from the first episode who
is still alive is Maree Cheatham who played Marie Horton (later Sister
Marie) and who is now 82. Original Julie Charla Doherty died at age 42 back in 1988. Our Julie, Susan Seaforth-Hayes, took over the role in 1968 is the surviving current cast member who has been on the show for the longest calendar time from first appearance to now.

Glad to hear DOOL has been renewed. I am a science fiction fan, and Days pretty much fits the description now.
