Hi,
the PCS Cadmus is/was a Q-BUS based 68K system. Its Unix kernel is
highly related to PDP-11 and VAX-Unix implementations.
Its kernel driver library contains a driver for a device dubbed KEDQS
which appears to be a superset of a Dilog DQ-120 mag tape formatter driver.
I am analyzing this driver code and found various operations and
functions that are not documented in the DQ-120 users guide at
bitsavers. A document found at archive.org appears to be just a bad
photocopy of the original DQ120, without the used extensions.
Does anyone have more detailed docs on this beast, or even source code
from some PDP-11 Unix where this device driver maybe stems from?
