I dont know if this dropbox link is going to work, or if either if these groups is still alive, but here goes anyway.

The chips in the picture were removed from a working PDP 11/23 plus
board (M8189 ?) some years ago, and have been sitting in that piece of anti-static foam ever since.

I have a hazy memory of them being removed because they didnt agree with
some weird revised boot prom which was wanted to boot up a RD53 or RD54
    disk

If anybody is able to shed any light on them I would be interested to
hear. I am having a bit of a clear out and it seems a shame to chuck
    them in the bin

I suspect they are microcode chips for the 11/23, but you should post
about it here: https://forum.vcfed.org/index.php?forums/dec/ as someone
    there will know for sure.

The sort of microcode that the CPU can run without ?

The 23-xxx numbers are often searchable. The narrow one seems to
be the floating point unit, KEF11, and the wide one the memory
management unit, KTF11, for F-11 PDPs.
