any thoughts/opinions on betting 2 horses per race? Not necessarily dutching, but the same amountI am now a modest bettor and my goals are to enjoy the handicapping process and the running of the race and to make my stake last a couple of years or so before I have to replenish my TwinSpires account. Less about maximizing profits on larger scale bets and more on minimizing losses.
bet on each horse with the lower odds horse is not less than even money.

My most frequent bet is win or an exacta box or both. Ia+-ll often add the exacta box to a win bet if I favor the higher odds horse compared to a strong favorite. My next choice of bet would include two horses to win. It fits in with the goals and I believe ita+-s an effective strategy. One question: does it matter if you like two higher odds choices vs. one higher and the other a solid favorite. When your two horses are say 5-1 and 6-1 vs. 5-1 and 6-5.
