any thoughts/opinions on betting 2 horses per race? Not necessarily dutching, but the same amount
bet on each horse with the lower odds horse is not less than even money.

I am now a modest bettor and my goals are to enjoy the handicapping process and the running of the race and to make my stake last a couple of years or so before I have to replenish my TwinSpires account. Less about maximizing profits on larger scale bets and more on minimizing losses.
My most frequent bet is win or an exacta box or both. IrCOll often add the exacta box to a win bet if I favor the higher odds horse compared to a strong favorite. My next choice of bet would include two horses to win. It fits in with the goals and I believe itrCOs an effective strategy. One question: does it matter if you like two higher odds choices vs. one higher and the other a solid favorite. When your two horses are say 5-1 and 6-1 vs. 5-1 and 6-5.

Of course what matters the most is if one of the two wins, otherwise what the odds are at is a moot
point. Obviously it's preferable to have two higher odds as that could make up for more than one loss,
but the reality is most of the time it involves the first, second, and third betting odds.

I think this is better than betting "equal amounts" ...

As close to post as possible, ADD rCL1rCY TO THE ODDS, AND DIVIDE THAT
NUMBER INTO rCL100rCY (or whatever amount you want) TO GET THE BET FOR EACH HORSE.

THE TOTAL AMOUNT BET MUST EQUAL LESS THAN $100 (Or the amount you
decided). If that's true, then No matter which horse wins, a PROFIT is
    shown.

(Applies as well to more than 2 horses, and you can use any $ amount
    rather than $100)
