Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters
worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not
blasphemed. And when the governor had read the letter, he asked of
what province he was. Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily,
I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but
because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Whoso curseth his
father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.
For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand
bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the
congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great
number of priests sanctified themselves.
Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of
hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no
God. Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul
from the wicked, which is thy sword: From men which are thy hand, O
LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life,
and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of
children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes. So
the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from thence the ark
of the covenant of the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth between the
cherubims: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there
with the ark of the covenant of And when the ark of the covenant of
the LORD came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout,
so that the earth rang again. But I tell you of a truth, many widows
were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up
three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the
land; But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a
city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow. Then the LORD opened
the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the
way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head,
and fell flat on his face.
These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination
unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent
blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be
swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies,
and he that soweth discord among brethren. But now bring me a
minstrel. I not free? When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the
sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. These are the
commandments and the judgments, which the LORD commanded by the hand
of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan
near Jericho.
