And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his
father's house. And he made boards for the tabernacle; twenty boards
for the south side southward: And forty sockets of silver he made
under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his two
tenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons. And
when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the
tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the
live goat: And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the
live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children
of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting
them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand
of a fit man into the wilderness: And the goat shall bear upon him
all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go
the goat in the wilderness.
He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate
because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his
fierce anger. Therefore he brought upon them the king of the
Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of
their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old
man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.
And he took them. The people asked, and he brought quails, and
satisfied them with the bread of heaven. The LORD is slow to anger,
and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD
hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are
the dust of his feet. In the third month they began to lay the
foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month. For
ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was
rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty
might be rich. And in every place where the grounded staff shall
pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets
and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.
But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more,
that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be
established. Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the
thirteenth year they rebelled. And for the entering of the oracle he
made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth
part of the wall.
And the children of Ammon gathered themselves together from their
cities, and came to battle. Thou shalt part it in pieces, and pour
oil thereon: it is a meat offering. Though ye offer me burnt
offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither
will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. Seek ye out of
the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none
shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit
it hath gathered them. And they shall come against thee with
chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which
shall set against thee buckler and shield and helmet round about:
and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee
according to their judgments. And she answered, It is well. Then he
put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in
chains, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the
day of his death. And they stirred up the people, and the elders,
and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him
to the council, And set up false witnesses, which said, This man
ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and
the law: For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth
shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses
delivered us.
And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest
bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would
enquire somewhat of him more perfectly. Thou hast shewed thy people
hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment. He
that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Then said Pilate unto
him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? And
many other things blasphemously spake they against him.
