I wouldn't be so sure, because Israel (hello NSO...) bought some
popular VPN providers like NordVPN.
All VPN and proxy servers know what you're doing because they log the
IP addresses, etc. Even if they say they don't *keep* the logs, they do
still have them temporarily because it's a necessity of how the
internet works.
They know where you go, not what you're doing.
It's the same thing in terms of websites, transferring files, etc.
Equally ridiculous are the age verification systems, all of which can
be easily fooled. Such systems are more about legally covering the
website's backside ("well, we did ask") than actually stopping young
people from going there.
You are never ever completely anonymous on the internet.
That's not completely true.
About the only way you could be "anonymous" is if you're using someone
else's computer without their knowledge.
