    I see the kernel is now updated to 7.0.4, ISTR my fc41 upgrade wasn't
    the cleanest, maybe time to wipe and do a fresh install (with KDE?) this
    time around ...

    I've had good luck with upgrades in Fedora. In this case I went from 43 to
    44 beta when it became available. The beta becomes the release
    automatically with no further effort. It's KDE/Plasma.

    There was one rough patch for a couple of weeks (40?) when KDE, Plasma,
    and Qt were all doing a lot of changes but it was sorted out rapidly. What
    i mostly saw was the browser crashing rather than a major meltdown.
