Thanks for the kind words about the Usenet service!is elegant and efficient.
I find yEnc encoding brilliant, transforming binaries into plain text
It's a pleasure to discover innovative tools like b4u.
Keep up the great work!

Get some therapy to cure your psychosis, kid.
I already tested today with -b 256 and cross-posting and it works
as expected with your server! :-) Next test will be to do it via
Mixmaster 3.1, from Richard (Windows version), to see if b4u fetches
also correctly, when the articles are not in the same part order.

Just the kind of thing a fed would say, tell me, how does it feel
for your cover to be blown wide open?
Hope that the three articles arrive in random order, so that
I can test proper fetching and automatically decoding ans saving
the .jpg image.

If you recall, this server was born from our need for an NNTP where we
could "experiment" with our applications. Then there was a period of
testing and fine-tuning, during which I also gained experience with
NNTP. Since you like *news tcpreset*, I can officially declare the
testing period over. My campaign to re-evaluate Usenet continues. Usenet
has been decentralized by nature since its first day of life, and, as
you taught me, a text-only NNTP server can now transfer binaries, if I understand correctly. Do you agree?
I had no way to find out very busy these days.
Yes, I fully agree. Regarding binaries, the idea behind it is to transfer
and receive important documents etc., like an encrypted .pdf or maybe an encrypted image[1], either directly with b4u and news.tcpreset.net or via
my m2n, which I added the X-Content: header now, and Mixmaster.
b4u fills IMHO a gap and it is also useful besides a.a.m. in other, no longer used, Newsgroups. The header format is kept very simple and with the esub Subject: line it fits nicely into a.a.m. and retrieving a file is super easy and with the help of the -rc parameter (replay cache) you avoid downloading things twice and third parties can not upload the same esub things twice.

Usenet as an home made interplanetary filesystem ,
genial ! :)
B4U can send chunks of any size, i agree with defaults 64kb but 256kb as maximum adviced for tcpreset is too much for policy and disk space. https://news.tcpreset.net/#peering

Yes, yEnc ist interesting, but I wanted to have a very simple,
powerful and efficient tool, which even QSL users understand.
It's a pleasure to discover innovative tools like b4u.

I remember the Dutch SpotNet, which works on top of Usenet, with
it's client, but found the documentation to sparse to create such
a client, hence b4u, which I think is more flexible.

Otherwise, I think b4u is now production ready as of today, because
now it supports also a custom From: header.
Best regards
Stefan
