Announcing NoshiTalk, a privacy-focused instant messaging system with true end-to-end encryption. No registration, no email, no phone number required.
CRYPTO STACK
- Ed25519 keypairs for identity (client-generated)
- NaCl Box encryption (X25519 ECDH + XSalsa20-Poly1305)
- Ephemeral keys per message (forward secrecy)
- SHA-256 Proof-of-Work anti-spam
HOW IT WORKS
1. Choose nickname, click "Generate Identity" - creates Ed25519 keypair locally 2. Solve PoW challenge (prevents spam bots)
3. Sign challenge with your private key
4. Enter chat - server only sees your public key fingerprint
Server is a blind relay. Private messages are encrypted client-side before transmission. Server cannot decrypt content - only recipient's private key can.
SECURITY PROPERTIES
- Zero-knowledge architecture
- No accounts, no persistent storage, no logs
- Identity exportable as JSON (portable across devices)
- Ephemeral by default (identity cleared on exit unless saved)
- Works over Tor hidden service
