China has marked an unusual step in the expansion of embodied
artificial intelligence, with an AI robot graduation in Hangzhou
sending four machines from vocational-style training into
    real-world jobs.

The robots completed courses at Hangzhou Robot School before
receiving assignments in factory inspection, visitor services
and entertainment, turning a training experiment into an early
test of how AI-powered machines could enter everyday workplaces.

The graduation was held this month at the Embodied Intelligence
Future Island in Hangzhou. The school opened in June with 30
robots from 16 companies, but only four completed their programs
in time for the first graduation.

    . . .

    Yea yea, political theater.

However any claims that the USA/west are AHEAD
in the AI/Bot race seem more and more like LIES.
The Chinese products have been spectacular of late
AND it's a huge open industry.

We are going to see these things infiltrate EVERYWHERE,
and NOT 'in the (far) future'. Androids can use existing
equipment made originally for humans - and the 'monkey'
design is pretty versatile too. Future gens may be
far less 'human-like' however. Ever see that 'SpiderMan'
movie about "Doc Ock" ? :-)

DO remember though that, as of now, these androids
do NOT have much "AI" inside them ... they basically
connect to a Main Brain somewhere via a sort of 6G
data connection. As neural-network tech becomes
more prominent that may CHANGE and the Main Brain
becomes less relevant, more a reference manual, Google.

Anyway, time's UP - we have to DEAL with these things now.
    Sci-Fi World is OVER.
