• YIKES ! "AI" Very Suddenly a MAJOR Political Issue

It's mostly because Trump wants to compete
with Chinese AI. If Trump says the sky is
blue the opposition will swear it's green
and find some 'federal judge' to back them.

The people behind the anti-AI ... mostly
ChiCom stooges as best I can discern.

However, according to some recently ex
employees, the efforts within US 'AI'
    developers are STILL totally, energetically,
aimed at producing a "super-intelligence" as
fast as possible. Ignore what the corps SAY.

The idea behind an AI "super-intelligence" is
something that can very quickly solve a LOT of
    sci/tech/med/logistical/etc issues VERY quickly.
Basically a 'god box'. Stuff that might take
humans 100+ years ... now done over the weekend.

    Great national/military/economic POWER can come
from this - thus the EXTREME interest. Hey, fall
behind and the rest WILL screw you - nothing new.

On the flip, do NOT even remotely assume 'AI' will
be used for 'good' purposes. In many ways it's
the Great STASI Wet Dream - ultra/micro spy on
everyone ALL the time ... looking for imagined
    political/social "problems". Not enough humans
to do that, but, for "AI", it's EASY.

And WHO defines what's a "problem" ? Nobody
    says ......

As such, "AI" soon represents a world where we
trade ALL freedom/autonomy for imagined "safety".

We WON'T like it one bit.

While I do understand Trump's idea of "staying
ahead of the Chinese" I don't think either staying
ahead OR falling behind is going to matter much.
We're, by our own ambitions, creating a hell world.

"Rights" ? WHAT fuckin' "rights" ? Just "white
    supremacist colonialist crap", isn't it ? :-)

If Trumpenstein told me the sky was blue, I'd have to look outside.

    I concur.

Everybody should vote like that's Trump's name on the pink button.
