It's not an employer's responsibility to provide health insurance.

-a-a Ummmm ... maybe so, maybe not.

No maybe about it. Your health, and insuring it, is your
responsibility. It should only become your employer's when you and he
voluntarily agree to it. The government has no business telling you or >>>> an employer who must provide insurance.

-a As I said - maybe so, maybe not. Some will see it
-a as a 'moral' issue, others as a 'political' issue,
-a others as an exploitation opportunity, others as
    -a a libertarian issue.

-a Apparently, for now, it has become a moral/political
-a thing and thus many employers WILL be forced to buy
    -a such insurance.

-a Maybe you prefer the charming 19th century idea of
-a disposable worker/peons ? If they get hurt on the
-a job just have the guards drag them outside the gate
-a and dump 'em in the ditch. Nearest thing to the old
-a Euro Lords/Serfs equation we got in the USA.

-a-a At minimum, employers that DO will be MUCH
-a-a more attractive to potential good workers.

-a-a As for "buy your own" ... better have a six
-a-a figure starting salary for that now. The whole
-a-a health-costs thing has spiraled completely out
-a-a of hand the past decade. Every entity along
-a-a the line wants to GOUGE.

-a-a And when they find out you've got that six
-a-a figure salary they'll gouge MORE. It's kind of
-a-a like gangsters demanding (health) "protection
-a-a money". More and more and more Or Else.

-a-a Not much point in having superior health
-a-a facilities, drugs, treatments and such if
-a-a almost nobody can AFFORD it. This kind of
-a-a shit is why lots of idiots, and now NOT
    -a-a so idiotic, vote Dem/Socialist.

No maybe about it. The government isn't in the morality business. Buy
your own insurance, or voluntarily agree with your employer for him to
    provide it.

Only socialists believe in health insurace because insurance is
collectivist. The Framers didn't have health insurance and neither should you because other people are paying for your medical care and you aren't doing your fair share.

If you don't have the money to pay a doctor or a surgeon, you'll just do without. Libertarians oppose health insurance because they're real capitalists unlike you. True capitalists pay cash.

Insurance is a big scam to steal our money.

Gee ... you tempt me to vote Blue .......

Oh, the instant a govt speaks of 'unalienable rights'
then it IS in the 'morality business' - sees people
as more than just farm animals or 'work units'.

Finally, capital-L Libertarianism can't work. The
Lords-and-Serfs picture would just be one stop on
the road to perpetual civil war and doom paving
the way to foreign conquest. I stick to the small-L
    variety of libertarianism.

Young strong men have a habit of thinking the "all
by yourself" world is good - until they get a little
older and less strong. Sorry, can't see any "Right
Of Conquest / Right By Power" bullshit. Leave that
to Conan The Barbarian .... we CAN do somewhat better
    and thus, ethically, we MUST.

    Doesn't mean a 'welfare state', but a practical &
humanitarian mix. The political challenge is KEEPING
it a "practical and humanitarian mix" rather than slipping
off either end of the see-saw.

Oh, DO realize that health insurance/system has become
a giant cash-ripoff machine over the past 20 years.
Guess your take is that if everyone CAN pirate then
they SHOULD pirate ? Yo Ho Ho And A Bottle Of Blood ?

Hmmmm ... could some sort of "health BOND" replace
traditional insurance, esp for smaller biz ???
