President Donald Trump's endorsement was not enough to save one
scandal-plagued Florida congressman Tuesday night.
Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., lost his bid for a third term representing
the Sunshine State's 7th Congressional District as a House
Ethics Committee investigation and alleged federal probe weighed
down his candidacy.
The winner in the race was Ryan Elijah, a former Orlando-area
news anchor for FOX 35 and a one-time NFL sideline reporter.
. . .
Well, at least Elijah was a FOX associate :-)
A little research, Mills WAS rather shady.
Lots of pols get that way, a little at a
time until they're in over their heads.
OTOH ... note that 'seniority' IS important
in govt. It means you're on more pivotal
committees and such. The new guy will NOT
have the same range of power Mills did. If
Graham's sister gets elected she does NOT
inherit all his old committee seats.
Not sure HOW many voters realize this.
Anyway, although a Trump endorsement is still
pretty good, it's NOT enough to let pols breeze
by years of bad behavior.
