Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is carrying as much as
$50,000 in student loan debt even as she begins a costly
egg-freezing procedure she says she has spent years saving
for, according to the New York Post.
Disclosures filed with the U.S. House clerk's office on Aug.
20, 2025, and covering the 2024 calendar year, show that
Ocasio-Cortez lists owing between $15,001 and $50,000 to
the U.S. Department of Education in student loans.
Her disclosed assets include an Allied Bank savings account
valued between $15,001 and $50,000, a Charles Schwab checking
account worth $1,001 to $15,000, a Charles Schwab brokerage
account worth $1 to $1,000, and a 401(k) retirement account
worth $1,001 to $15,000, the filing shows.
Ocasio-Cortez, 36, has repeatedly called for canceling
federal student loan debt during her time in Congress.
The disclosure comes days after Ocasio-Cortez announced on
Instagram that she had begun freezing her eggs, sharing a
video of herself administering an injection at home.

Trump has pretty much destroyed, for good reasons, the
US DOE. Does that mean her loans disappear ? Can't owe
anything to a non-existent entity :-)
Now, interesting question, will some RIVAL FACTION
conspire to STEAL or DESTROY her frozen eggs ???
Holding them 'hostage' might give somebody a lot
of leverage. This would make for a good sci-fi
movie plot - except it's not "-fi" anymore.
