A 31-year-old naked man was arrested Saturday after allegedly
attempting to kidnap a 7-year-old from a park in Portland,
Oregon, authorities said.

Daniel Vasey allegedly grabbed a 7-year-old girlrCOs arm and tried
to pull her away at Tom McCall Waterfront Park before her family
and bystanders intervened, the Portland Police Bureau said in a
press release.

rCLThe childrCOs father, mother, and bystanders jumped in,
punching, slapping, and pulling on the suspect,rCY authorities
said. rCLOne bystander deployed an irritant spray at him trying
to keep him away from people and prevent him from continuing
his criminal actions.rCY
