Iran sought to assert control over the Strait of Hormuz by saying that
ships need its permission and mandatory insurance in order to cross,
even as the US said that 20 ships had quietly sailed through overnight
via a route along OmanrCOs coast.
But for many shippers and oil producers, IranrCOs warning that it reserves
the right to charge rCLinsurance feesrCY threatens to crystallize a
worst-case scenario: tolls on the Strait of Hormuz.

Territorial waters basically means 12 nautical miles from the baseline
(normal) shoreline. The straight of Hormuz at the narrowest point is 21
miles, Oman also has 12 mile control that leaves no room for access into
the gulf. The only way out is to play nice with Oman and Iran
The strait was always open for business before the war. Why should Iran
allow ships from hostile countries in their backyard. Trump will keep
saying it is international waters but Trump doesnrCOt know much does he?
How many western countries will allow foreign ships to loiter in their territorial waters? I say let us pay the transit or the environment fees
and get on with trading as it was before the war. Trump has to take full responsibility for screwing up the worldrCOs economy.
The other important issue, Trump should be hanged for murdering 160+
school girls in Iran at the start of the war. It is the most barbaric
war crime.
