    This is not really such a great trend.

    While "party" affiliation used to take precedence
    today's voters are much more prone to take the VERY
    short view and look at Right NOW over Long Term Plan.

    The UK ... they will eventually dump Labour ... but
    replace it with equally-incompetent Tories or similar.
    NO net improvements - just Disaster under different
    banners.

    USA ... depending on who is telling you ... seems the
    voters are in a similar small-picture mode. Joe caused
    hyper-inflation and many other bad things, but voters
    seem happy to dump Republicans because everything did
    not suddenly get half as expensive in the past two
    years. Elect Dems and they will CONTINUE - kind of
    deliberately - to Destroy Everything ... but too many
    voters Don't Get It.

    Eggs too expensive, well, let's elect the very people
    who MADE them that way before ! That'll fix it !!!

    This IS a systemic problem with 'democracy' - might
    be it's own self-doom if radicals have their way.
    Plato knew it, even Churchill knew it - but there's
    maybe not much to DO about it.

    Oh wait, MARTIAL LAW ... lefty or rightie, just as bad.

    Post-Covid inflation hit THE WHOLE WORLD.

    Biden actually kept US inflation lower
    than other countries.
