accused of opening fire near the White House Saturday afternoon
has been identified as Nasire Best, 21, of Maryland.

Sources said the suspect, who was shot by U.S. Secret Service
agents, died on the way to GW Medical Center.

He allegedly had prior encounters with the Secret Service and
a history of mental health issues, sources said.
