One USSS member was shot, "with a very powerful
gun", but he was wearing body armor and is OK.

The perp IS alive and FoxNews suggests that he
has been identified ... "a 31 year old male from
California". They have not yet provided an
exact name however. Likely DailyMail will have
that dirt first.

Trump is framing this as an 'attack on free speech
and free press'.

Erica Kirk was there - and apparently, understandably,
was totally freaked out.

Trump claims - and likely true by all reports - that
he badly wanted to return to the event minutes later.
However the USSS simply would not allow it ... it was
unclear whether there might be another conspirator.

Likely re-schedule for next month.

He praises the USSC and other law-enforcement for
their immediate and aggressive response - "The
best of America". He suggests the perp had a
handgun AND some kind of rifle down his pants.

WHY ? Trump says that that his own high profile
and activist persona makes him a target. Do not
expect him to change.

There is apparently video of the perps rage.
Trump remarks that "he was really moving" -
doing his best to get past the security.
He also says the security reacted instantly,
never let him get near the door. Apparently
the perp was 'fighting hard' even after being
tackled. It is suggested by Trump that he was
a "lone wolf".

"Some of these people are of genius-level IQ,
but they're nuts".

He does not think this was an Iran-sponsored attack.
However an ISIS brainwashee, or ANTIFA brainwashee,
is a good probability. Barely any diff anymore ...

It is NOT clear whether the perp brought in the
weapons off the street or whether they'd been
pre-planted inside the building. The venue WAS
known well in advance. Conspirators thus ARE
a possibility.

And Trump has left the stage ...
