• Why =?UTF-8?B?V29u4oCZdA==?= NZ Recognize A Palestinian State?

Christopher Luxon keeps hemming and hawing over whether NZ will finally
decide to recognize a Palestinian state.

Why the dithering? I think itrCOs down to Act. They seem the most obviously pro-Israel of all the Coalition members, with one of their MPs openly describing the recent pro-Palestinian march in Auckland as rCLplaying terro dress-uprCY.

David Seymour reinforces this point <https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/winston-peters-scolds-david-seymour-for-talking-out-of-his-field-on-palestine/7DQ3RZCKTZGSJNEDW5TVQU36QE/>:

rCLIrCOm not going to recognise a state thatrCOs currently weaponising
hostages, holding people for years on end in absolutely inhumane
conditions. I mean, who would recognise that?rCY

*Ahem* Who has been rCLholding people for years on end in absolutely
    humane conditionsrCY, again?

    <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinians_in_Israeli_custody>:

A 2023 report by Save the Children found widespread use of
physical, emotional, and sexual abuse against Palestinian children
in Israeli military detention. The report found that among
detained children, 86% were beaten, 69% were strip searched, 60%
spent time in solitary confinement, 68% were denied any
healthcare, and 58% were denied visits or communication with
    family.

[Amnesty] International reported the use of torture against
Palestinian prisoners during the Gaza war, with at least four
prisoners dying in Israeli custody since the war began.

So now we know: the answer is no <https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/politics/winston-peters-delivers-speech-on-palestinian-statehood-at-united-nations/2DHYZRRSNNHURB4AGBSGVZZ5CA/>.

The right of a people to self-determination is not a bargaining chip,

subservient servants to the colonial masters.

    An excellent decision.
If people would only do a little research they would find that most of the recent countries that have said they would recognise Palestine have placed conditions on that decision that make it almost impossible.
We have been honest, they have not.

    No dithering, just fairness.

Just another anti-Israeli rant from the OP.

I support the idea of a Palestinian state, but in some place other
    than right next to Israel.

Howabout somewhere in Iran? They've got plenty of room and they are
    all such good pals.

Since it is Israel that are the interlopers, how about moving them away
from Palestinian land? They seem to be such besties with the USA, perhaps
the Americans will set aside some land for them, since they have plenty to spare, more than the size of Israel (both current Israel and proposed rCLgreaterrCY Israel) several times over.

The Jews have been in Israel for thousands of years. There is no such
thing as a "Palestinian". The Gaza and west bank occupants are the
misfits that have been kicked out of the surrounding countries and
dumped on Israels doorstep. None of those countries want a bar of
them. Not even Iran. They are troublemaking malcontents. Who wants to
live next door to that? It doesn't matter where they go, they are
incapable of creating a civil society. They are victims of their own
    religious and tribal sensibilities.

The Jews have been in Israel for thousands of years.

So have all the other tribes. They were coexisting, right through Roman,
to Islamic times. Then the Christian Europeans had to launch their rCLCrusadesrCY to stir up trouble.

There is no such thing as a "Palestinian".

Go to one of them and tell them that. We have quite a few here in NZ, as elsewhere.

The Gaza and west bank occupants are the misfits that have been kicked
out of the surrounding countries and dumped on Israels doorstep.

They were there before the founding of Israel. IsraelrCOs founding citizenry were kicked out of Europe because the Christian Nazis didnrCOt want them around, and after centuries of trying to exterminate them, decided to be magnanimous and grant them their own rCLhomelandrCY.

Remember the Zionist slogan? rCLA land without a people, for a people
without a landrCY. If those rCLpeoplerCY donrCOt exist, who is Israel killing?

    They are troublemaking malcontents.

Gee, funny that. How would you feel if somebody else came along and said
your land wasnrCOt yours any more?

So why did you call them interlopers, which you clearly believe they are not?

Nonsense, that is you trying to rewrite history.

Remember the Zionist slogan? rCLA land without a people, for a people >without a landrCY. If those rCLpeoplerCY donrCOt exist, who is Israel killing? Also exactly what Hamas is saying - can you not see there are two sides to this? No, obviously you will not see. There is none so blind as he who will not
    see!

    They are troublemaking malcontents.

Gee, funny that. How would you feel if somebody else came along and said >your land wasnrCOt yours any more?
As above - that is what Hamas are saying to Israel - can you still not see? Obviously not.
Balance is not a word in your personal dictionary.
