To me, the disappointing (but not surprising) thing to learn from this

is that people are now relying on AI chatbots to back up their
prejudices about facts they donrCOt want to know.

Yes, people are starving in Gaza, as a result of deliberate Israeli
policy. Why should it be a big surprise that AIs are capable of lying
about this, as they have lied about a whole bunch of other things?
