We often say that reality is stranger than fiction ...

We once truly believed in the myth ...

Who is, we, could be a question.

There appears to me to be a modern state
of the world in terms of cities, traffic, huge
buildings where people go to work and live and
they seem to be, basically, like robots. Drones
    similar to Borg species naturally.

Having been assimilated by the modern culture,
they shop in malls, play their games, watch
what is provided by the media and that's
about it. Maybe most are happy or not.

What else is there to do,
    could be a question.

We thought their wealth came from hard work,

Logic can be used at times to suggest
what might have been true isn't always true.

Perhaps, in some if not most places on the surface
of a planet called the world, Earth, etc., people work
for hours and hours, year after year and maybe retire.

Whether life was better, as in DDJ 80, when villages
were near enough and far enough away, no cities were
mentioned as being huge and the states were small too.

In modern states, people are told to move.

A super highway or a train, bridges, dams
and other infrastructure is needed to bring
more people, more jobs, more wealth and why,
    could be a question.

People, some people, might have always been
attracted to cities and left the farms.

    To believe in myths continues.
    Consumerism, work and playing games.

Points are made from what could be called
having no point. Aye wonders about life.
Modern as well as ancient forms.
    In bamboo groves, at times.

    - thanks! aye. Cheers!

Some cities, probably most, are old.

How people live and lived in them, told
in stories, recorded in videos and sold
    for various reasons, given perspectives.

Farms in modern states have changed.

Many places, on the surface, have little
or no need for as many people to work
    the land, to provide food.

    To believe in myths continues.
    Consumerism, work and playing games.

To have the latest greatest stuff.

    Perhaps things make people happy
at least once upon a time and
    then, the dopamine wears off.

Points are made from what could be called
having no point. Aye wonders about life.

To eye the world, on the surface, as wells
have depth and sea turtles know how to find
    without a phone, home.

Birds may fly half-way around, above the surface
and return home each year. Butterflies also.
    Perhaps it takes several generations.

People might migrate from home to office.
Some have a vacation home they visit.

And yet, where is home, in their xin.
What is home in their hearts and minds.
Questions may be asked and wondered.

    In bamboo groves, at times.

Neo-Daoists, some of them, liked wine.

They didn't whine at times, at least
not all the time about places like
in myths when that's what their
    modern life is about.

    Appearances vary.

    - thanks! Cheers!

Returning is mentioned in the DDJ.
How to be, as an infant, without knowing
good and bad nor this and that, etc.

    Small children simply play, wu-wei.

They know how to live without playing
    judge, jury and executioner.

Birds may fly half-way around, above the surface

Some generations of butterflies only go so far.
Then, laying eggs, the next generation continues.

Without any myths, no artificial lines on maps,
instinct, perhaps drives them to return, to
migrate from place to place naturally.

As caterpillars, they simply chomp on leaves
and have so many legs a wonder could be how
do they know how to move them all.

A short story in the Zhuangzi reflects.

And yet, where is home, in their xin.
What is home in their hearts and minds.

    Birds make nests.
    Caterpillars spin.

    Transformations vary.
