I have read everything in this group and cower next to the towering
    taogentsia

I wish I grasped things better. Perhaps those days of perspicacity escaped
    a long time ago.

Here is an excerpt from a book i have been reading, and while interesting,
I have reached out to my sister with questions, because it is at times
overly sciency and over my head

rCLThe bias continues today. We use plant metaphors to sneer at weak
language. rCLFloweryrCY sentences use ornamentation to hide lack of substance. Real flowers are such successful communicators that whole dynasties of insectsrCobutterflies and beesrCoevolved to read them. rCLWoodenrCY writing is poor, even though real wood is supple and strong. We admire the animal
flesh in rCLmuscularrCY language. Even the rCLflower powerrCY of the 1960s denoted
passivity, yet real flowers actively direct the animal world around them,
and their prodigious growth builds new ecosystems. Consider, too, how we
name the stages of liferCOs history. ChildrenrCOs books, old biology textbooks, and modern nature documentaries mark the grand divisions using animals, the rCLAge of DinosaursrCY and then our present rCLAge of Mammals,rCY even though the
sunflower and orchid families each include more living species than all
    mammals and reptiles combined.rCY

    That's a lot of reading.

Long ago were many people who knew
about the basic texts called the philosophy
who frequented this bamboo grove as it was called.

the more there are realizations of limits.
Many phenomena probably won't be understood beyond
how now they appear to be.

    A fun paragraph!

It reminded me of an opening of a chapter of the Chuang-tzu
    speaking of language and words.

Reading the reference a bit, a wonder was, what?
Long ago it all made sense. Now, a sense remains.

Whether it's the same sense or differs is curious.

Taoism, the philosophy basically, presents wonders.

When younger, as my universe formed, a quest
began with questions such as: What's going on?

There must be more than what appeared
to be material or physical reality.

    Why are we here?

Learning a word, spiritual, my path, my dao
as it were began to unfold.

"What is, is, what is not, is not.
The Tao is made because we walk it,
things become what they are called."

In the early 70s, exploring religions, they all
seamed to me to be saying the same thing.

Then, in 1996, in this group, differences
were shown to be of great interest to me.

Reading the basic texts of the philosophy,
the Tao Te Ching and Chuang-tzu, provided
    and continue to provide answers.

    Metaphysical answers.
    Philosophical answers.

    Ah. Got it.

The group goes back to 1995
with the idea being Taoist philosophy.

When Deja was taken over, even before,
    messages began to disappear.

For Taoist philosophy, other groups are better, imo.

Usenet could be viewed as a multiverse.
Each group can be its own universe.

Taoism, as both philosophy and religion,
among other features that are both or neither,
as a whole includes lots of ideas naturally.

Some posters who post here appear
to think their messages pertain to Taoism
and, in a universe of sorts, they well may.

Each so-called individual could be viewed
as a universe or a world which intersects
other worlds or universes at various points.

    Connotations of words vary.

I think that is the view I had of it for the last few decades. Viewed as a multiverse, I have done a lot of planet hopping. Sometimes I lurk and
observe, at times I speak up. But in all cases, there is so much creativity
to absorb and so much to learn.
