There's a genuine fear of a major volcanic eruption.
Thera/Santorini is popularly believed to the the
origins of the Atlantis myth. When it exploded
around 1,600 BC(E) it destroyed the Minoans and
ended civilization from ancient Egypt to China.
It's active right now. They've had lots of
earthquakes...
Then there's Campi Flegrei. I've chosen an older
cite because the more & more it looks like we're
going to see an eruption the more the propaganda
machine insists that it can't be tied to the end
of Neanderthals...

Oh: It ended the Neanderthals. It "Thinned
the heard" so much that they were overwhelmed
by other groups migrating into Europe from
the middle east...
How bad was the eruption? One researcher
studied pollen and found that most plants
in Europe just stopped pollinating! Today
that would mean no crops. Farms would
cease to exist for at least a year.
THESE THINGS AREN'T LOCAL!
The entire northern hemisphere would be
negatively impacted.
AND THERE'S BIGGER VOLCANOES ACTIVE RIGHT
NOW! Two of them, and not the only two,
are Yellowstone & Toba....
