Cliff notes:
Wicked old asteroid. Might've come from a water world,
been flung off one. Has all the building blocks of
RNA plus some weird "Glue" stuff that nobody ever
saw before...
So would it still be some flavor of/variation on
Panspermia, if we're just talking all the building
blocks?
The claim, and there's reasons not to believe it,
is that we can positively identify fossilized
microbes well north of 3 billion years in age. So
what I would want to do is dig into the source here
and look for life.
