• Thunar loads slower on TW than Leap

I've used Leap with xfce for several years and I've never noticed a delay
in loading Thunar after booting the machine, signing in, and clicking a desktop item such as Home.

I recently got a new (refurb) desktop, about 3 years old, and am running Tumbleweed on it. I noticed immediately that it takes 4-5 seconds to load Thunar, before a window appears. Subsequent loads are quick. Both machines
are of similar power - a 12yo i7 and a 3yo i5, both with the OS on sata
ssds. Other programs - Firefox, Thunderbird, Pan - load just as quickly as
    on Leap.

What might be the reason for this?

Maybe there is a network resource somewhere?

    No.

    I found the solution here:
    Thunar#Solving_problem_with_slow_cold_start>
Quote: Some people still have problems with Thunar taking a long time to
start for the first time. This is due to gvfs checking the network,
preventing Thunar from starting until gvfs finishes its operations. To
change this behaviour, edit /usr/share/gvfs/mounts/network.mount and
    change AutoMount=true to AutoMount=false

I don't know what that AutoMount=true did. Before, when I plugged an
iPhone into USB, which uses gvfs, it appeared in Thunar but didn't auto
mount it. It's no different afterwards. That may have been governed by a
USB automount option, however: I think I may have turned that off for removable drives.
