There is an article on Slashdot today which basically says that the
newest kernel is the one with the least security holes, and that the
number of such holes in any vendor kernel increases exponentially over time.
https://www.zdnet.com/article/are-all-linux-vendor-kernels-insecure-a-new-study-says-yes-but-theres-a-fix/
is the original article, and it specifically mentions Tumbleweed as a distribution which always uses the latest stock kernel.
https://linux.slashdot.org/story/24/05/19/0030248/why-a-frozen-distribution-linux-kernel-isnt-the-safest-choice-for-security
is the Slashdot article.
