    Hello!

    https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14/16-0-alpha-1-feedback-4175766785/

There's this thread with a lot of off-topic talk (about the future of
    ix86 libraries).

There was in ISO mentioned, but I cannot find one for Slackware 16.

Is there any official announcement etc. that I missed?

There's (currently) no 16 image because it doesn't exist. Someone saw a
version jump in the build files and noticed 16 is on the way at some
point. Then, someone said (paraphrasing now) "you should call it
16-alpha" and Pat said OK. So if you are running current Current it's
basically 16-alpha. Those images get spun up periodically as slackware64-current-install-dvd.iso . My last one is from Sept
9th. /etc/slackware-version still says "Slackware 15.0+" as of today.

There was on alienBOB's (official Slackware team member) websites the day those updated, though only quasi-official, since only one's from Patrick Volkerding are considered absolutely official... and alienBOB possibly
made some changes to the installer shell at least on Slackware Live (X
Window System) ISOs (definitely not official) though I can't remember if
those made their way into the standard (command-line) installer. Anyway,
that 16A1 ISO is likely gone by now. I simply deleted it after I moved on
to next day's Slackware-current. It'd be possible to reconstruct 16A1
using a cumulative Slackware archive (like at slackware.uk) though I'm
    unsure how.
