Did I break something? Did they break something? Is it just me, my
settings, my browser, my hardware? Could it be my soundcard? I tried it
in Librewolf, Waterfox and Opera but I get only silence.
Other online radio stations seem to work fine.
Thanks for checking.

That link took *forever* to come up.-a When it finally arrived, I used my console for curl and wget to see if there were hiccups that caused the delay, but they popped up just fine.
Then, the index page was in some foreign font, likely cyrillic, as the
IP is .ru.
I don't know how to navigate the .ru page to find some sound.
Then I used google translate to help me; which ALSO took forever to come
up, which was still in .ru or cyrillic or whatever.
So far I haven't advanced to an opportunity to get sound.
"Cipher mismatch. Some problem with SSL/TLS."
Try an SSLLABs evaluation of the web site.
It does not appear to be part of the "HTTPS Everywhere" campaign :-)

When I used
http://sectorradio.com/
it seems it might be a russian site, I punched the "NO" button presumably for Norwegian, and I got some classical music in the speakers. I was using FLAC format.

In Firefox/Librewolf you can just click the translate symbol to the
right in the address bar and translate the whole site to the language of your choice. Works fine here.

Normally you just have to click the large Play button and it should
start playing. You can switch stations with the two-letter buttons.

Yes, the old http site still works, but about a month ago they switched
to https and no matter what I try I cannot get any sound out of it.

I see that big icon, and a mute/unmute function; but so far I haven't
gotten any sound. Personally I think there is some deficiency w/ the
site, in spite of the fact that some have gotten sound.
In what would seem to be play mode according to the appearance of an
icon which has a stop and go function, the 'slider' which should
represent the progress of the playing doesn't move for me.

my Firefox blocked that site, viz. "It looks like this site is using old software with known security issues"

Also, check your proxy settings afterwards.
It's possible the site did something to change the proxy setting.

Their https site is malconfigured and I can't even get to it. It's using
an unknown protocol.

Looks like a Russian website, Masters! :)
So what? I have been listening to them for years. Never had any trouble
until their recent switch to https...

Have you checked the "Enable fullpage translations" in the Settings?

Only on the http version it seems.

That's not a progress bar but a volume slider, you can change the volume of the silence that's being played. :-)

Can they do that?? My proxy in the network settings is still on "None" so I guess that's okay?

I don't wanna dive further into your problem.
Sorry, Master. :)

servers within Russia or friends/allies of
Russia?
