The PCI Express slot power pins

75W on 3.3V and 12V contacts (as defined in the standards, do not do this)

6600 card might draw 12V @ 5A through the slot

1080 card might draw 12V @ 2.5A through the slot

"Being a dual-slot card, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti draws power
    from 1x 6-pin + 1x 8-pin power connector, with power draw rated at 250 W maximum."

    = 75W + 150W + 30W

Whereas the GTX 1080 is 180W total and is 150W + 30W approximately.

For CPU, you can use the turbo power estimate. 14900K is 253W.

Allow 50W for motherboard, 12W for disk drive.

250W GPU (closed loop power control)
253W CPU (closed loop power control)
50W Misc loads such as PCI bus drivers
    12W Disk drive
    ----
565W then multiply by 1.5x for margin 750W or 850W

With lower power CPU and video cards, I am using 620W and 650W
for two of the machines in the room. I used to run one
of the boxes on a 465W, but as time passed, the power
supply was getting "tired" and that's because of the
fast rise time of the CPU power dissipation. I replaced
the 465W with the 620W (Seasonic). The box using the 650W,
was supposed to get the 750W which is in the wrong box.
Some day, I will swap the 650W out of one box, for the
    750W in the other box.

    The thing is, I don't game, so Max_GPU + Max_CPU hardly
    ever happens.

I had a power meter that measures power at the wall plug,
and so far the record for the computers here is 400W as a
measured value. Maybe by calculation the value should be
500W, then times 1.5x for 750W supply. No combination
of hardware in my room, needs bigger than a 750W supply,
so you can tell my hardware is pretty modest. I buy the cheap
video cards. The cheapest lately, was a GT 1030 for a bit
over $100. Normally, the cheap video cards cost a lot more.

There is hardly ever a reason to buy a 1000W supply,
when a 1200W is better. Once you get to the really high
powered video cards, the 1000W does not have enough margin, and
you might look at a 1200W instead. To build a gaming machine
today, you need a pretty large budget, unless you have
some leftovers from before things got expensive.

    i think i have 450w and 2 gpu connector 6/8 hum...
