Actually, it is closer to seven years. Nevertheless, the hardware

I don't use one.
The M58p doesn't have a UEFI BIOS, so F12, select the eSATA device.
If you want a more modern experience, use a Lenovo M700. It has both
Legacy and UEFI with eSATA support. Again, F12, select boot device.
The M700 is configured for UEFI boot and runs any EUFI OS, currently
W11, Linux, ESXi, etc.

it's a dream !
i hope a day, we 'll have a nvme enclosure.
:)
so, may be you could say us what is your load manager ?
I don't use one.
The M58p doesn't have a UEFI BIOS, so F12, select the eSATA device.
If you want a more modern experience, use a Lenovo M700. It has both Legacy and UEFI with eSATA support. Again, F12, select boot device.
The M700 is configured for UEFI boot and runs any EUFI OS, currently
W11, Linux, ESXi, etc.
Zzzz.

I don't know what you meant by an NVMe enclosure. I have one with a
cable ending at a USB-A plug. I used it as a backup before removing the
guts of my HTPC and rebuilding it.
