• How do I downgrade to GIMP 2.10?

I always see people connected to the IT world insisting that users should keep their systems up to date. So, when Mageia itself notifies
me to update the system, I have no doubt and proceed with the update.

Recently, GIMP on Mageia 9 was updated to version 3. It was
distressing when I tried to use it for my routine tasks. It simply did
not work the way I was already used to.

In Mageia Control Center (MCC), there is an option for GIMP 2.10, but it depends on libraries that are no longer available.

In the MCC, two versions of GIMP 2.10 appear, but when I try to
install them, an error occurs indicating a missing library.

The bdk part of the package version indicates it is not a Mageia package, it's a blogdrake
    package.

Most likely one of the blogdrake packages has a version specific requires that is not compatible
with the Mageia version of gimp.

You would need to disable the blogdrake repositories, uninstall the blogdrake version of gimp
and any leftover orphans, then install the Mageia version of gimp.

If that fails, post the output of "urpmi gimp" run as root.
